- Theory classes (40 hours) were taken for Bachelor of physiotherapy students from Mother Theresa Institute
- A case of congenital adrenal hyperplasia in a male child was presented at the institute clinical society by Dr P Sriram.
- Breast feeding week was celebrated in the month of August. In connection with that, several competitions were held for the nursing interns with the object of promoting breast feeding and Dr Shanthi gave a talk on “Problems associated with breast feeding”.
- Dr Barathy went as a resource person for the training program on “IMNCI” held for staff nurses from various PHC’s
- Dr Barathy C presented her work on “Current trend in typhoid fever in children” at the National Hospital infection control conference held at Mahatma Gandhi Medical college and Research Institute Puducherry.
- Dr Shanthi and Dr Barathy were co-investigators in a multicentre WHO Project “Taking guess work out of Pediatric Weight Estimation (TAPE)”
- A wrap up meet of the TAPE project was conducted in the month of July where the results were presented.
- An informal discussion on “essential medicines for children” was held along with the TAPE project wrap up meet

f)Contact session for 2 weeks at Trivandrum Medical College as part of PG diploma in Developmental Neurology. -
Dr. Shanthi attended the MEDUCON Oct 2011 held at JIPMER, Puducherry and presented a paper entitled ‘ Correlation of academic performance with attendance by medical undergraduates” Project currently in progress: Detection of developmental delay among infants by Dr BV Balachandar.
