Brian, more often known as Beamer, was raised in Sea Cliff and went to St. Mary’s High School in Manhasset. He made a crucial step in 1964 by enrolling at Providence College. He served as the New York and National Alumni President coordinated multiple class of 1968 reunions, and graduated with a PhD in 2019. A Providence College scholarship in Brian’s honor will be given to students from Catholic schools in New York City.
After finishing college, Brian worked as an accountant for Grumman before starting as a business school teacher at the recently opened St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School. After a spell of working as an accountant at Grumman, Brian decided to change his field and become a business education teacher at the freshly opened St John the Baptist Diocesan High School. This was before Brian decided to become a teacher at the school. There is where he first met Barbara, who would go on to become his wife, and where he also experienced his first love.
In 2002, he received recognition by being inducted into the organization’s Hall of Fame, and in 2010, he received the Gentlemen’s Dinner Man of Vision Award. After graduating from St. John the Baptist, he worked for the Henry Viscardi School for the following two years as an administrator before enrolling in the graduate program at the State University of New York at Farmingdale.
He eventually advanced to the rank of Dean of the Equal Opportunity Centre after serving there for forty years and received the Board of Regents Chancellor Award in 2010.
