Who was Jeneka Lancaster? Know more about the 15-year-old girl
Jeneka Lancaster was a young girl, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 19, 2007, to Jonathan “Luke” and Anisha Lancaster. She was a student at Tri Junior-Senior High School, and she excelled both academically and athletically, participating in a variety of extracurricular activities.
As a cheerleader, she had been honing her skills since the age of three and was a varsity cheerleader for her 2nd year running. She also enjoyed archery, ran varsity track, and was the team manager. Her academic prowess was evident in her induction into the National Honor Society and her role as treasurer of the Student Council.
Jeneka had big dreams for the future, with plans to study Kinesiology/Law Enforcement. Recently accepted into the New Castle Career Center for the building trades program, she was well on her way to achieving her goals. Jeneka also loved spending time with her mom, crafting, fishing, shooting guns, and indulging in sweet tea, sour candy/gummies, and bagel dip.
How did Jeneka Lancaster Die? What was the cause of her death?
A Tragedy happened in Henry County, Indiana on Monday night on 10th April where a 15-year-old girl, Jeneka Lancaster, lost her life in a single-vehicle crash. According to the reports, Indiana State Police, along with local sheriff’s crews, arrived at the scene within two minutes of the 911 call to investigate the incident.
Upon arrival, they found a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt turned onto its driver’s side after flipping into a field off Kennard Road near County Road 450 S. The preliminary investigation suggests that the car was traveling northbound on Kennard Road when it left the roadway inexplicably. The police are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the cause of the crash and bring the family of the deceased the answers they deserve.
Police statements to the accident:
On Tuesday, ISP released a statement on the serious car accident saying, it involved a juvenile driver and another female passenger, according to the statement, the front-seat passenger was still receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Further, no additional details were provided by state police at this time and police are still investigating the cause of the car crash. Although, such events are always alarming and serve as a reminder to all of us of the importance of remaining vigilant while on the road.

Funeral & Visitation:
Visitation is arranged for Jeneka Lancaster and all loved ones are invited to pay their respects and celebrate her life at the upcoming visitation and celebration of life services. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 14th from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
The celebration of Jeneka’s life will be held the following day, April 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Tri Jr./Sr. High School Gymnasium with Pastor Dan Jones officiating. Attendees are requested to wear pink, burgundy, or white and dress casual. Those who will participate are requested to enter from southwest entrance #21. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jeneka Lynn Lancaster Scholarship Fund through the Henry County Community Foundation. It’s a fitting tribute to honor her memory and support students in the community.
