On Thursday, March 27th, 2023 Samantha Vuong, a beloved student of West Covina High School passed away at the young age of just 16 years. As per the reports, she was found dead in her room.
Samantha was a student of West Covina HS, she was very active and used to being part of many activities and sports in the school. Her passing has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Samantha Vuong, a talented 16-year-old, shone brightly amongst her peers at West Covina High School. Born on 24th September 2006, Samantha was a beloved member of her school’s community, known for her impressive artistic abilities and her sweet personality. She spent her younger years attending Monte Vista Elementary and then went on to complete middle school at Walnut Grove Intermediate.
Samantha showed great promise in sports, particularly volleyball, and basketball, and continued to excel when she entered high school. Along with joining the volleyball and basketball teams, she also became the ASB Class of 2024 Vice President, participated in track shot put, and collaborated with several clubs. Samantha’s hard work and dedication made her a valued member of the Bulldog community.

16-year old Samantha Vuong of West Covina High School tragically passed away on Thursday, March 27th 2023. It was reported that the junior student died by suicide in her own room.
The news of the devastating event was announced through an email sent out to students and staff members on Monday morning.
